But again am confused because under "Setup\ Advanced Routing, Operating Mode" you have it listed as set to "Router" but under "WIRELESS \ Basic Settings, Network Configuration" you have it listed as set to "Bridged". If I am visualizing your setup correctly, I am thinking you want the wrt54g to set to bridge mode with its WAN port connected to the 24 port switch. ![]() Mainly what device is 192.168.1.1? Is this the IP of the NIC on the Sophos box or the IP assigned to the wrt54g linksys router? Is the 24 port switch a managed or unmanged switch? I am a little confused about the IP's you posted above and need more information. I am currently very broke with a new baby and cannot buy a new AP.I have reinstalled DD-WRT and even choose a different version - no change.the average load of the AP is typically around 15%.It loads forever, however it works on a wireless laptop fine. Netflix does not work on either of our phones. On my wife's phone her Samsung says the connection is unstable and tries to switch to 4G even when my phone can connect and I can get online. My phone HTC one running cyanogenmod can always connect to the wireless and obtain an IP address, but often will be extremely slow.Once the AP is finally passing traffic I still have problems After a few hours of no activity the AP will not pass any traffic to the outside and I can no longer ping 192.168.1.1 on any wired or wirelessly connected device or through the telnet console. When I ping google directly wired to the AP the ping times are all over the place spiking as high as 1000ms and as low as 8ms.If I wire a laptop to one of the other 5 ports on the AP I can not ping 192.168.1.1 until I ping an external server like google DNS (8.8.8.8).Pinging from the Telnet console of the AP I can almost never ping 192.168.1.1 and I can only ping 192.168.1.1 after I have pinged an external source with a another device connected to it the AP. NTP Client enabled server IP: 192.168.1.1.the subnet mask is of course 255.255.255.0.The local ip address: 192.168.1.251( this is outside the DHCP range set on the sophos. The WAN connection type is set to disable. Here are a list of all the settings I changed bellow on the AP: However, the “Assign WAN Port to Switch” box is checked. The AP is connected to the 24 port switch and it is connected to the WAN port. ![]() The AP however, is a pain in my rear end. All wired and wireless devices are on the same subnet. Sophos hosts DHCP, DNS, and provides the network with UTM functions. All wired devices connected to the switch work as intended and sophos is amazing. The AP is a wrt54g linksys router running DD-WRT. The lan nic on the Dell 850 goes to a 24 port GB switch. My gateway is currently sophos running virtually on ESXi 5.5. I have done 10 hours of reading on the subject before I create a useless thread. I am going to provide as much detail as possible to yield a helpful answer. Setting up an access point should be easy, however I have been having issues with mine.
